My PhD project focuses on determining the learning model adopted by the spinal cord during a repetitive, yet skilled locomotor paradigm, as well as characterizing the circuit involved in this learning process.
To this aim, I will use high-speed kinematic recordings to characterize spinal cord-driven locomotor learning and maintenance. Furthermore, I will use an intersectional approach of mouse genetics, virus-mediated circuit activity manipulation and in-vivo electrophysiology to focus on a population of interneurons involved in this process.
