Anna Chrzanowska

My main goal is to study the functional neural circuits that drive visually-evoked defensive behaviors through the superior colliculus – a major node in processing visual information.
To accomplish my research question, I am working on a reproducible experimental approach for studying circuits engaged in defensive behaviors – a setup that enables one to link psychophysical tasks for mice in highly controlled virtual reality environments with electrophysiological recordings and optogenetics in genetically targeted cell types in mouse.
