Congratulations to Vincent Bonin and Aya Takeoka, and of course their respective teams. Both labs secured a competitive research grant from the Flemish Scientific Fund (FWO).

Bonin and his team will study the role of the retrosplenial cortex in visual and spatial learning. Takeoka and her team will map the characteristics of age-dependent neuronal plasticity in locomotor circuits after spinal cord injury.

Vincent Bonin: “These awards reflect the growing maturation of the NERF research program. They strengthen our existing efforts but also allow us to be bolder in the pursuit of new research avenues. We thank FWO and the Government of Flanders for their continuing support.”

Both projects will run for four years, until Dec 2013.
