In September and October 2011 two more principal investigators started at Nerf, Vincent Bonin and Fabian Kloosterman.
The purpose of Vincent’s lab is to study the network computations and biological mechanisms that underlie sensory processing in the brain.
At Fabian’s lab the aim is to reveal the fundamental mechanisms by which the brain represents, stores and processes information, and how memories are used by an organism to guide its behavior.
In October also, Francesco Battaglia started his work as a visiting scientist at NERF. He will spend about 20% of his time at NERF to work at new systems to read brain activity and to stimulate it in a closed loop fashion.
